Razer recently did a great job in the 15-inch gaming laptop market with the Razer Blade 15 2018 h2. This elegant design and powerful performance impressed. However, the price of the Razer Blade 15 prevented all but the richest gamers from enjoying the perks.

The latest version of Blade starts at $ 1,599 (valued at $ 1,799). It features the same durable design we love paired with an Intel Core CPU and Nvidia GTX1060 Max-Q GPU. This is also the first Razer laptop to feature dual storage and Gigabit Ethernet. The Blade is a mastering lesson in tackling the difficult path between power and affordability.

Screen

The Blade 15’s 15.6-inch matte panel was very bright, allowing Zoe Renee’s cherry red body and Jinn’s trailer to stand out. The details were so sharp that she could see the individual curls in the girl’s magenta and lilac hair.

Audio

Thanks to the Dolby Atmos software, the sound was able to cover the entire medium-sized test lab. Dynamics, Music and Voice were the best settings.

Razer unveils new Blade gaming laptops at CES 2021
Razer’s new Blade 15 and Blade Pro 17 gaming laptops were unveiled at CES 2021. Razer’s Blade series has a new version that includes more powerful graphics and hardware. This includes Nvidia GeForce-RTX 30 series laptop graphics in a variety of configurations.

Razer specifically notes that Blade laptops can support the RTX3080 GPU with Nvidia’s Max-Q optimizations. These include Advanced Optimus to increase battery life on the go, DynamicBoost 2.0 for optimal GPU performance, and Whisper Mode 2a .0 for quieter sound.

The Razer website and Razer stores will only be able to order both laptops starting January 12. You can purchase Blade 15 at select retailers starting January 26, while Blade Pro 17 will be available in the first quarter of 2021.

The Blade 15 is a gaming machine, like most Razer products. It has a dedicated 8GB Nvidia GeForce 1070 Max-Q graphics processing processor and an Intel Core i7-8750H hexacore.

But is it possible that such powerful hardware could be used as a mobile workstation? This is certainly an intriguing prospect. The top-of-the-range 4K model we used is thousands cheaper than last year’s 15-inch MacBook Pro model. Apple’s laptop costs $ 2,474 after tax if you get one with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. It could also be part of the Blade 15 of 2050.

You get touchscreen capabilities, which work quite well. Also, the MacBook Pro doesn’t have full RGB backlighting. The Razer Blade 15 2018 H2 did a great job with the keyboard’s overall ease of use. The chiclet keys are well sized and spaced, and the key travel is noticeably longer than on the MacBook Pro. This may be partly due to Apple’s intentional design decisions (MacBofavours prefers stroke depth over actuation force), but the Blade 15’s keyboard is much easier to use.

Although the trackpad is smaller than that of the MacBook Pro, it is still a good size for all 15 screens. The smooth texture of the trackpad is easy to use and its responsiveness is excellent. This laptop is not a convertible and is a clamshell style. However, it was easy to switch between the trackpad and touchscreen inputs.

The price of the touch screen technology is higher than that of the 3840×2160 resolution. However, the pixel count advantage of the latter is much higher than that of the 15-inch MacBook Pro. We measure the contrast of the Blade 15 at a maximum of 1486 to 1.

With its Core i7-8750H, 16GB of DDR4 memory and GTX 1070 Max Q, the Blade 15 is one of the most powerful mainstream laptops around. It scored 157 in our 4K benchmarks. This is slightly lower than the MacBook Pro 173, but not significantly lower considering the former had what should have been a huge advantage with its Core i9-8950HK.

Also noteworthy is the fact that the latest Dell XPS 15 scored 178 points using the same Core i7-8750H. Under load, the Blade 15 gets pretty toasty. This suggests that some acceleration is likely.
