Moscow has opened a brand new prison case towards Russia’s prime opposition politician Alexei Navalny, who’s already serving a nine-year jail sentence, his spokeswoman stated on Tuesday.
“A brand new prison case was opened towards Alexei Navalny whereas he is in jail because of a ‘provocation’,” Kira Yarmysh stated in English on Twitter.
Yarmysh stated it was the tenth case towards the Kremlin critic, who was already going through as much as 35 years in jail.
His supporters see the costs as a punishment for difficult President Vladimir Putin.
Within the newest case, Navalny is accused of “disorganisation of the exercise of penitentiary establishments” which might see him face 5 extra years in jail.
Yarmysh stated the administration staged a “provocation” towards Navalny by inserting an inmate “with private hygiene issues” in his cell.
